While it is not legal yet, many people feel that it will be legalized in the near future. There are many benefits to legalizing weed, and Texas could see many of these benefits if it were to legalize the drug.<\/p>\n

Weed is currently illegal in Texas. Despite efforts to legalize weed in the state, it remains a Schedule 1 drug under the Texas Controlled Substances Act. Possession of any amount of weed is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine. However, marijuana possession arrests have been on the decline in Texas in recent years.<\/p>\n
